The renowned amongst sea-men N-NW Meltemi wind begins roughly in June and dies down around mid-September and early October.
In July and August Meltemi blows at a force of 5 to 6 and sometimes 7 to 8 on the Beaufort scale. It may last for up to two weeks long, usually blowing from several directions.
